Lee Adama aka Apollo
Lee Adama also known as “Apollo” is an excellent character on BattleStar Galactica. We see his character changes throughout the entire show. He goes from being a pilot, to a commander to the President of the colonies. He was exceptional at every role in the series. The major problem with Apollo in the show is that he was insubordinate. Though he is very different than Starbuck this is the one area in where they are the same. He even held Colonel Tigh at gunpoint because he had an instinct. He is the exact opposite of his father William Adama who is not as emotional as his son. Like his grandfather he was more cut out for politics than the military.
Throughout the entire series Lee is in search of something. I believe he finds it by the end by realizing that he doesn’t want to be seen as just the son of Admiral Adama but he wants to be taken more seriously than that. He wants to be something more than what his father had intended. As we see toward the end of the series he became a skilled politician without the help of his father. He rose up to become a leader in his own right. He also is the one to convince everyone to destroy their ships and technology to make a life for themselves on planet Earth.
